NETI-1A Introduction to Successful Teaching for STEM Faculty

How do I get my STEM course off to a good start? How do I design a course to save time, enhance learning and get good student feedback? If you are interested in reflecting on these questions with research-based guidance, join us at the National Effective Teaching Institute (NETI-1A) Introduction to Successful Teaching for STEM Faculty.  This online workshop is designed primarily for instructors who have taught for 1-5 years or more experienced faculty looking for an introduction to instructional design. This workshop focuses on effective strategies for getting started in STEM courses in both face-to-face and online classes.

Topics explored in the workshop include:

  • crafting meaningful learning objectives
  • designing effective assessment strategies,
  • common crises that may arise in STEM courses and career guidance for STEM instructors.

Due to the continuing challenges surrounding the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Institute and it’s facilitators have elected to conduct this Workshop via web interface. It is our sincere hope that by the summer of 2022 we will return to offering in-person workshops!
