SUMMARY:NETI-1B Strategies For Promoting Student Engagement
DESCRIPTION:How can I motivate my students? How can I actively engage students in my classes? How can I create a more inclusive teaching environment? If you’re interested in research-based guidance on these issues\, we are pleased to announce an upcoming offering of the National Effective Teaching Institute (NETI-1B)\, Strategies for Promoting Student Engagement.  \nThis workshop is designed for instructors who have taught at least one year\, and will benefit instructors with many years of experience who are looking to take their teaching to a new level. This online workshop for STEM instructors focuses on effective strategies for engaging students in both face-to-face and online classes.  \nTopics explored in the workshop include:  \n\nstrategies to enhance student motivation\nresearch-based student-engagement techniques (active learning)\nways to provide an inclusive class environment that engages all students. \n\nDue to the continuing challenges surrounding the Covid-19 Pandemic\, the Institute and it’s facilitators have elected to conduct this workshop via web interface (zoom). It is our sincere hope that by the summer of 2022 we will return to offering in-person workshops!
